Pipeline Coach Sidebar

Inside any pipeline, the right-side Coach drawer answers deal-specific questions ("why is this stuck?", "what should I send next?", "who else should I loop in?") using the deal's history, contact notes, and stage thresholds.

Steps

  1. Open Pipeline (sidebar > Pipeline).
  2. Pick a pipeline and select any deal card.
  3. Click the "Coach" or ✨ icon on the right edge to open the drawer.
  4. Ask anything about the deal — Coach pulls in stage timing, recent activity, contact notes, and Pulse health to answer.

Good to know

  • Different from the global AI command bar — Coach is scoped to one deal at a time and has full deal context.
  • Suggested next steps come from the deal's current Playbook (see "Pipeline Pulse & Playbooks" article).
  • Daily cap per user: Starter 5 turns, Pro 20, Max 100. Add a BYOK AI key under Settings > AI for unlimited turns on any plan. The cap resets at midnight UTC.
  • Coach only reasons about items in active stages. Items in stages named (case-insensitive) closed won, closed lost, resolved, cancelled, archived, published, completed, or done are filtered out silently. Rename the stage if you need Coach to see those items.
Example: An AE looking at the "Trellis Robotics — $48K" deal opens the Coach drawer and asks "why is this stuck in Demo Booked for 12 days?". Coach reads the deal: "the buyer's SDR replied to your follow-up by suggesting Maya (CFO) needs to be looped in, but you haven't emailed Maya yet. Suggested next step: introduce yourself to Maya with the ROI deck, cc the SDR." One-click sends the intro.

Troubleshooting

"Coach daily limit reached" error
You've used up the day's cap (Starter 5 / Pro 20 / Max 100 turns per user).
Fix: Wait for the midnight UTC reset, upgrade the plan, or add a BYOK AI key under Settings > AI — BYOK orgs have no daily cap.
Coach says it can't find a deal I just mentioned
Either (a) the deal is in a terminal stage (closed won/lost, resolved, archived, etc.) and is excluded from Coach's context by design, (b) the deal is outside the 60-item cap Coach loads into context, or (c) the deal is in a different pipeline than the one the Coach drawer was opened from.
Fix: Open Coach from the same pipeline the deal lives in. If the stage is terminal, rename it or ask the question with the specific item ID so Coach knows which one you mean.
