Customizing Your Analytics Dashboard — Cards, Views, Layout & Date Range

The Analytics page is a HubSpot-style customizable board. Every report is a card you can add, remove, drag to any slot, switch the chart view on, flip the axes of, expand to full screen, and scope to any date range. All choices save per browser, so each teammate keeps their own layout.

Steps

  1. Add / remove cards: click "+ Add report" (top-right) to bring back any hidden card — the badge shows how many are available. Hover a card and click the × (top-right) to remove it; it returns to the Add list. Advanced reports start hidden so the board stays curated.
  2. Reorder: grab any card and drag it onto another card's slot. The whole grid is one draggable surface — move "Deals Won/Lost" or "Task Throughput" anywhere. Order is remembered.
  3. Switch the chart view: hover a chart card and click the view icon to choose Bars, Columns, Line, Area, Pie, or Donut. Distribution cards (Pipeline Stages, Lead Sources, Deals by Owner, etc.) support all six; the choice is saved per card.
  4. Swap axes: on a Line or Area chart, click the ⇄ button to transpose it — categories move to the left (Y) axis with full labels and values run along the bottom (X) axis. Great when stage/source names are getting truncated.
  5. Expand to full screen: click ⤢ on any card to open it large and centered with axis labels and gridlines. Switch the view from inside the modal too. Close with the ×, the Esc key, or by clicking the dimmed backdrop.
  6. Pick a date range: use the 🗓 picker (top-right). Presets are Last 7 days, Last 30 days, Last 90 days, and Last 12 months; or choose Custom and set an exact from → to. All time-windowed cards and the Contact Growth chart re-query, and each card's subtitle updates to match.

Good to know

  • Defaults are the "standard" view — e.g. Pipeline Stages opens as a donut, Lead Sources as bars, Contact Growth as a bar trend. Anything you change is restored on your next visit.
  • Line and Area charts have a real Y axis (rounded value ticks + gridlines) and X axis (date/category labels), so they read as proper graphs, not sparklines.
  • For a long Custom range (e.g. a full year), the Contact Growth chart automatically groups days into wider buckets so it stays readable and fast.
  • Pure-number cards (Revenue, Win Rate, Avg Deal Size) and list cards (Top Leads, Recently Added) have no view picker or swap button — there's no distribution to re-chart.
  • The six KPI tiles at the very top (Total Contacts, Growth Rate, etc.) are lifetime / month-over-month metrics and are not affected by the date-range picker.
Example: A RevOps lead preps a QBR. She sets the date picker to a Custom range covering last quarter, drags "Pipeline Value by Stage" and "Deals by Owner" to the top of the grid, removes the cards she doesn't need, switches Pipeline Value to an Area chart and hits ⇄ so the stage names show in full, then clicks ⤢ to present it full-screen on the conference TV. Next quarter she reopens Analytics and her exact layout, views, and removed cards are still there.

Troubleshooting

A chart looks cramped / labels are cut off (e.g. "Initia…", "Progra…")
Many categories squeezed onto the bottom X axis of a small card.
Fix: Click ⤢ to expand the card to full screen, and/or use the ⇄ swap-axes button on a Line/Area chart to move the labels to the left axis where they have full width.
My chart-type / layout changed back after I expected it to stick
Per-card view, swap, grid order, hidden cards, and date range are saved in the browser's local storage. A different browser, a different device, or a cleared cache starts from the defaults.
Fix: Re-apply your choices in that browser; they'll persist there. There is no server-side sync of personal layout yet.
The date range didn't change the top KPI numbers
The six KPI tiles (Total Contacts, Growth Rate, Avg Lead Score, Conversion, Churn, Segments) are lifetime / month-over-month by design and ignore the range picker. Only the report cards and Contact Growth re-query.
Fix: Read the date-scoped figures off the report cards; the KPI tiles are meant as always-on headline numbers.
A card I removed disappeared and I can't find it
Removing a card (×) just hides it; it isn't deleted.
Fix: Click "+ Add report" top-right — every hidden card is listed there to add back.
No view picker or ⇄ on a card
That card is a stat or a list (e.g. Revenue, Top Leads), not a distribution/trend chart.
Fix: Those cards have a single fixed presentation by design — only chart cards expose the view picker, and only Line/Area expose swap-axes.
