LinkedIn Lead Gen Ads → Zapier → CRMown
Automatically pipe new leads from LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms (sponsored ads) into CRMown as contacts — in near real-time, no manual export, no scraping. This is the only officially supported way to pull LinkedIn data into a CRM via Zapier.
Steps
- Prerequisites: a LinkedIn Campaign Manager account with a live or draft Lead Gen Form campaign, a Zapier account, and CRMown.
- In CRMown, go to Settings > Integrations > Developer/API Keys and generate an API key (or copy the Zapier-specific key from the Zapier integration card).
- In Zapier, click "Create Zap." For the trigger, search "LinkedIn Lead Gen Forms" and choose the "New Lead Gen Form Response" trigger.
- Connect your LinkedIn Ads account when prompted — you need admin access to the Campaign Manager account that owns the form.
- Pick the specific Lead Gen Form you want to sync. Test the trigger to pull a sample lead and confirm the field list (name, email, phone, company, job title, plus any custom questions).
- For the action, search "CRMown" and choose "Create Contact." Paste your CRMown API key to connect.
- Map LinkedIn fields → CRMown fields: First Name, Last Name, Email, Phone, Company, Job Title. Map custom form questions to custom fields or notes. Set Source to "LinkedIn Ads" and tag the contact with the campaign name (e.g., "linkedin-q2-webinar") so you can segment later.
- Optionally chain a second action: "Create Deal" to drop the lead straight into a pipeline, or "Create Task" to assign follow-up to a rep.
- Test the full Zap with the sample lead, then turn it on. New form submissions will land in CRMown within 2–15 minutes depending on your Zapier plan.
Good to know
- Standard LinkedIn posts, profile visits, connection requests, and InMail are NOT exposed via Zapier — only Lead Gen Ads responses are. For Sales Navigator leads, use the CSV article above.
- Zapier's free tier limits total tasks per month. A high-volume ad campaign can exceed that fast — check your Zapier plan before launching a big-budget campaign.
- Custom form questions in LinkedIn (e.g., "What's your budget?") arrive as extra Zapier fields. Map them to CRMown custom fields or the Notes body to preserve context.
- Pair this with a CRMown automation (Workflows): trigger on contact.created with tag "linkedin-ads" to send an instant welcome email or assign the lead to a rep automatically.
- Avoid third-party LinkedIn Zapier apps (Dux-Soup, Phantombuster) that advertise richer LinkedIn data — they rely on scraping and violate LinkedIn's ToS.
Example: A demand-gen team runs a $4K/week LinkedIn Lead Gen campaign for a webinar registration. Each form submission flows: LinkedIn → Zapier → CRMown.create_contact (tagged "linkedin-q2-webinar") → CRMown workflow trigger → instant confirmation email + assignment to the SDR queue. By Friday, 87 leads are in pipeline with full attribution.
