Blog → Website: Write a Post, Publish It, and Show It on Your Site
The full workflow — create a post (AI Write can pick the topic and write it), publish it so it goes live at yourdomain.com/blog/<slug> instantly, and surface posts on your pages with the Blog Posts block. Publishing a post is instant; you do NOT re-publish the whole website for it to appear.
Steps
- Prerequisite — your website must be live: in Web Studio, publish your site and connect your domain (Web Studio → your site → Publish, then Connect Domain). Blog posts appear under that domain at /blog. (Drafts and unpublished sites are not public.)
- Create the post: Marketing → Blog → "New Blog Post".
- Write it: type a title, or click "✨ AI Write" — with no title it recommends a topic from your Business Setup (Settings → Setup Assistant / your AI agent profile) and writes a complete, 2026-SEO-structured post (short-answer box, single H1, E-E-A-T byline, table of contents, comparison table, FAQ, JSON-LD). You can also write Markdown/HTML directly, or use "⬆ Load file" to import a .md/.html/.txt file.
- Add a featured image: in the MEDIA box use "⬆ Upload" to pick a file from your computer, "✨ Generate image" to create one with AI, or paste an image URL.
- Fill metadata: the slug auto-fills from the title; set excerpt, tags, category, and SEO meta title/description — or click "✨ AI fill metadata" to generate them from your content.
- Publish: click "Publish" (status changes to "published"). Use "Save Draft" if you are not ready — drafts stay private.
- It is now LIVE immediately — no separate site re-publish needed. The post is at https://yourdomain.com/blog/<slug> (the editor shows this "Public link" once saved). The blog index is at yourdomain.com/blog and the feed at /blog/rss.xml. Edits to a published post show right away.
- Show posts on your pages: in Web Studio open a page (e.g., your homepage), then Add → "Social Proof & Data" → "Blog Posts". This block auto-lists your latest published posts, correctly linked — no manual linking, always current. Re-publish that site page after adding the block.
- Optional — link one specific post: paste its /blog/<slug> path (copy it from the editor's "Public link" row) into a button or a "Read article →" link in Web Studio.
- Optional — social: use "Share to social" on the post, or turn on "Auto-share new posts when published" to post to your connected channels automatically.
Good to know
- Two different "publish" actions: publishing a BLOG POST is instant and dynamic (it appears at /blog/<slug> with no site rebuild). Re-publishing the SITE is only needed when you change site pages/blocks (e.g., after adding the Blog Posts block).
- Only "published" posts are public — drafts never appear at /blog or in the Blog Posts block.
- The blog header uses your organization logo/name automatically (set the brand logo in Settings), not the internal site name.
- The Blog Posts block is the durable way to show posts on a page — it always reflects your latest published posts, so you never have to hand-update links.
Troubleshooting
A published post does not appear at yourdomain.com/blog/<slug>
The post is still a Draft, or the website itself is not published / the domain is not connected.
Fix: Publish the post (status = published), and confirm the site is Published with the domain connected in Web Studio.
/blog shows an old hand-built page instead of your posts
You have a static "Blog" page in Web Studio at the /blog path, which takes precedence over the auto-generated blog index.
Fix: Either delete that static Blog page, or open it and drop in the "Blog Posts" block so it lists your real posts.
A "Read article →" link opens the homepage instead of the post
The link points at /blog/<slug> for a post that is not published (so the post URL does not resolve and falls back to home).
Fix: Publish the matching post, and make sure the link uses the exact /blog/<slug> shown in the post editor.
