# Operations Events — Ticketing, Registration & Check-In

_Calendar & Scheduling_

Beyond 1:1 booking pages, Operations runs full events: a public registration page, ticket types, a registrant roster, on-site check-in (web + mobile), and AI-drafted promotion. Manage it all from Operations > Events.

## Steps
1. Operations > Events > "+ New Event": set name, start/end, location, capacity, type. It saves as a draft.
2. Expand the event to manage it: add Ticket Types (name / price / quantity), then Publish.
3. Publishing makes the event live at its public page (app.crmown.io/events/<id>). Use "🔗 Copy public link" and share it — anyone can view + register with no login; each registrant becomes a Contact (source = event-registration).
4. Watch sign-ups in the Registrations roster. Check people in at the door with the per-registrant "Check in" button, or on a phone via the mobile app.
5. Add someone by hand (a phone RSVP, a walk-in, a name from a paper sheet): on the Registrations page pick the event, then "+ Add registration" — name and email are required, phone optional. A manual add is complimentary (never charged, even on a priced event) and sends nothing unless you tick "Email them a confirmation". The email is how duplicates are caught, so adding the same address twice reuses the existing registration rather than creating a second one.
6. Import a list: same button, “Upload CSV” tab. Pick the file (header row, one person per line), check the Name / Email / Phone columns it guessed — First Name + Last Name columns are joined automatically — and import up to 500 rows at a time. The result says how many were added, how many were already registered, and lists every skipped row with the reason (no email, no name, invalid address). If the event fills up partway through it stops and names the row it stopped at rather than overbooking.
7. Send your own reminder to registrants: on the event, click "✉️ Email registrants", choose everyone or only those who accepted / haven't answered / said maybe, write the subject and message ({{firstName}} etc. are filled in per person), then Send now or Schedule it for a date before the event. It goes out as a campaign, so opens and clicks show under Marketing → Campaigns. This is separate from the automatic 1-week / 1-day / 1-hour reminders, whose wording is fixed.
8. Share the list: on the Registrations page (📋 View registrations), pick the event (and optionally an RSVP), then click "🖨 Print / PDF" for a clean printable list — choose "Save as PDF" in the print dialog — or "📥 Export CSV" for a spreadsheet with name, email, phone, company, job title, RSVP, status, ticket, payment, registered and checked-in dates. Both include every matching registration, not just the rows on screen. Allow pop-ups for app.crmown.io if the print window does not open.
9. Click "✨ AI Promotion" to draft email + LinkedIn/Twitter/Instagram + SMS copy you can copy-paste into your channels.
10. Edit or Delete from the same panel; Unpublish takes the public page offline again.

## Tips
- Create an event pre-linked to a CRM record: from a Contact, click "🎪 Schedule Event" — the event form opens prefilled and linked (the event shows the linked contact/company/deal + organizer).
- Mobile check-in: in the app, More > Event Check-In > pick the event → scan an attendee QR or tap a name; it captures GPS and updates the live checked-in count.
- Publishing does NOT send anything automatically — announcing is deliberate (use AI Promotion + your own channels). Routing event triggers into automated nurtures is a future Automation-engine capability.

## Example
A community manager builds a "Q3 Customer Workshop", adds Free + VIP ticket types, hits Publish, and drops the public link in a newsletter. Registrations stream into the roster (each becomes a Contact). At the door she opens the mobile app, scans attendees in (GPS-stamped), and the checked-in count ticks up live. Afterward she clicks AI Promotion to draft the recap email.

## Troubleshooting
- **"Copy public link" is greyed out** — The event is still a draft. The public page only renders published events. Fix: Publish the event first, then Copy public link.
- **Public event page shows "Event not found"** — The event was unpublished or removed; only published events resolve publicly. Fix: Re-publish the event; the same link works again.

## Plans
Operations suite. AI Promotion uses the monthly AI token budget. Paid tickets/bookings need a connected Stripe account.
