# Tap Card — Pocket CRM (NFC / QR Business Card)

_Lead Generation_

A physical NFC/QR card that puts a digital profile in your pocket: tap it (or scan the QR) against any phone and the person lands on your public page — name, title, company, links, a Save Contact button, and a "Share your info back" form so THEY can send you their details on the spot. No app install required on either side. Each card has a permanent URL (app.crmown.io/c/{cardId}) printed nowhere but readable by any NFC-capable phone.

## Steps
1. The card starts unclaimed. The first person to tap/scan it lands on a short claim form: name and email are required; title, company, phone, and LinkedIn are optional. There's also a checkbox to opt in to CRMown updates.
2. Submitting the claim form sends a verification email. Click the link inside it within 48 hours to activate the card — the link expires after that and the card resets to unclaimed so it isn't stranded on a typo'd email.
3. Verifying does two things: your public profile goes live at the card's URL, and a second email arrives with a private "edit" magic link — that link is how you manage the profile from then on. No CRMown login or app install involved.
4. Anyone who taps your card afterward sees your live profile: name, title, company, LinkedIn/website, and a "Save Contact" button that downloads a vCard straight to their phone's contacts app.
5. On your profile page, visitors also see "Share your info back" — a small form (name, email, phone, company, optional note) they can fill out to send YOU their info, with a note about how you met or what you discussed.
6. To edit your profile later — swap your title, add a photo, change what's visible — use the magic link from your verification email, or request a fresh one from the card's public page (enter the email you claimed with; if it matches, a new link is emailed).

## Tips
- Phone number is hidden from your public profile by default — you have to explicitly turn it on. Every other field (title, company, email, LinkedIn, website) is shown unless you explicitly hide it. Toggle visibility per field from the edit-link page.
- People you exchange info with via "Share your info back" go into YOUR private capture list only — tied to your card's profile, not to any CRMown organization's shared Contacts. Nobody else who has a Tap Card sees your captures, and you don't see theirs.
- The edit magic link is valid for 30 days after it's issued (each verify or "resend edit link" request mints a fresh one) — if it expires, just request a new one from your card's public page with the email you claimed with.
- Only one person can claim a given card — once it's claimed, tapping it again shows the live profile, not another claim form. If you lose access, use the "resend edit link" flow rather than re-claiming.
- A profile photo (PNG/JPEG/WEBP, 2MB max) can be uploaded from the edit-link page — it shows next to your name on the public profile and in the downloaded vCard.
- This is a standalone pocket-CRM product, separate from your CRMown org login — the card, its profile, and anyone captured through it are not stored inside your organization's Contacts list.

## Example
A founder hands out Tap Cards at a conference instead of paper business cards. Each person she meets taps her card against their phone, sees her profile (title, company, LinkedIn — phone stays hidden), taps Save Contact, and optionally fills "Share your info back" with a one-line note ("met at the AI4 booth, wants a demo"). By the end of day two she has a private list of everyone who exchanged info back, each with context on how they met — no manual data entry, no app either side had to install.

## Troubleshooting
- **Verification link says "expired" or "invalid"** — The claim link is only valid for 48 hours, or it was already used once. Fix: Go back to the card's URL and claim it again with a fresh submission — a new verification email will be sent.
- **The edit link no longer works** — Edit links expire after 30 days from when they were issued. Fix: Open the card's public URL, use the "resend edit link" option, and enter the email you originally claimed with. If it matches, a fresh link is emailed.
- **My phone number isn't showing on my profile even though I filled it in** — Phone is hidden by default — it's an opt-in field, unlike the other profile fields. Fix: Open your edit link and toggle phone visibility on.
- **Tapping the card does nothing on my phone** — NFC is off (Android), the phone is locked (iOS needs it unlocked to surface the tap notification), or the phone doesn't support NFC reads. Fix: Scan the printed QR code on the card instead — it opens the same URL.
