# CRMown Free

_Settings & Administration_

CRMown Free is a personal, one-seat CRM for the people you meet — the account behind a CRMown Tap card. It has no AI and only uses things that cost nothing per use: your own Gmail or Outlook for email, your calendar, tasks and follow-ups. Anything Free doesn't include opens an upgrade sheet offering the $14 30-day trial.

## Steps
1. Claiming a Tap card creates a CRMown Free account automatically — set your password from the link in the card's welcome email (valid 7 days; after that, use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page).
2. Free includes: up to 1,000 contacts, 1 pipeline with 4 stages, 50 open tasks, 10 tags, 25 MB of files, 1 seat, and CSV export any time.
3. Email on Free goes out from your own Gmail or Outlook (connect it in Settings > Communications) — up to 50 emails a day, with no open or click tracking. If your mailbox isn't connected, or needs reconnecting, the email isn't sent and you're told why.
4. Your calendar and contacts refresh when you open CRMown (at most every 5 minutes) instead of syncing in the background.
5. On CRMown Free the mobile app opens as CRMown Tap: four tabs — My Card (your card as a QR code, plus "Tap or scan to save someone"), People, Follow-ups and Calendar — with Settings (gear icon) for connecting Gmail or Outlook, exporting your contacts as CSV, editing your card and deleting your account. Starting the trial switches the app to the full CRMown app; no reinstall.
6. Once you've saved your first contact, a banner offers the free CRMown mobile app. On a phone, "Get the app" opens the app already signed in (the sign-in link works once, for 10 minutes); on a computer, it links to the App Store and Google Play.
7. Not included on Free: CRMown AI (including with your own AI key), texting/WhatsApp/social messages, phone numbers, teammates, automations, suites, booking pages and video meetings. Trying to use one opens the upgrade sheet instead of an error.
8. To upgrade, open the sheet (or Settings > Billing, where a "You're on CRMown Free" banner appears) and click "Start 30-day trial — $14". Everything on your Free account carries over.
9. If a trial ends without upgrading, the account moves to CRMown Free — nothing is locked or deleted. Free is one seat, so teammates are paused (not removed) and come back automatically when you upgrade.

## Tips
- Each account gets one $14 trial. If you already had one, Settings > Billing asks you to pick a plan instead.
- Over a limit after a trial ends? Nothing is removed — you can keep viewing and editing everything; you just can't add more past the Free limit until you upgrade.

## Troubleshooting
- **An upgrade sheet opens when I try to add a contact, task, pipeline stage or tag** — You reached a CRMown Free limit (1,000 contacts, 50 open tasks, 4 stages, 10 tags, 1 pipeline, 25 MB of files). Fix: Remove or complete something to make room, or start the $14 30-day trial from the sheet.
- **CRMown AI buttons open an upgrade sheet** — CRMown Free has no AI, even with your own AI key. Fix: Start the 30-day trial to use CRMown AI.
- **The "Set your password" link from my Tap card email doesn't work** — The link is valid for 7 days, and only once. Fix: Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page with the email you claimed the card with.
- **Sending an email says to connect Gmail or Outlook** — CRMown Free sends only from your own mailbox, never from a CRMown address. Fix: Connect Gmail or Outlook in Settings > Communications, or reconnect it if it shows as expired.
- **An upgrade sheet opens when I send an email** — You sent 50 emails in the last 24 hours — the CRMown Free daily limit. Fix: Wait until tomorrow, or start the $14 30-day trial to send more.
- **A new calendar event or contact hasn't shown up yet** — On CRMown Free, calendar and contacts refresh when you open the app, not in the background. Fix: Reload CRMown; it refreshes at most every 5 minutes.
- **A teammate can't log in after our trial ended** — The workspace moved to CRMown Free, which has one seat, so teammates were paused. Fix: The owner upgrades in Settings > Billing; paused teammates are restored automatically.
