# Task Management

_Tasks_

Tasks help you and your team stay organized with follow-ups, deadlines, and assignments.

## Steps
1. Go to Tasks from the sidebar.
2. Click "+ Add Task" to create a new task.
3. Set a title, description, due date, priority, and assignee.
4. Link a task to a contact or deal for context.
5. Mark tasks complete by clicking the checkbox.

## Tips
- Tasks sync with Google Tasks and Microsoft To Do if connected.
- Overdue tasks appear highlighted in red.
- Filter by assignee, priority, or status.
- Nurture tasks (birthday, anniversary, long-silent customer check-ins, "sphere of influence" pings) are auto-generated daily by a background worker capped at 50 new tasks per org per day. If you have a large sphere and only see a partial set, the rest queue to the following day to avoid flooding assignees.

## Example
After a discovery call, the AI extracts three follow-ups and creates linked tasks: "Send pricing PDF (due tomorrow, high priority, assigned: Mara)", "Loop in legal (due Friday, medium, assigned: Sam)", "Confirm CFO intro (due Monday, high, assigned: Mara)". Each task is linked to the Acme deal and contact, so completing them updates the deal timeline automatically.

## Troubleshooting
- **Tasks not syncing with Google Tasks** — Tasks sync is enabled but hasn't run yet, or the Google Tasks scope wasn't granted during OAuth. Fix: Settings > Communications > Connected Accounts. Check the Tasks toggle is on. Click Sync Now. If still not working, disconnect and reconnect Google — make sure all permission checkboxes are checked on the Google consent screen.
- **Completed tasks still showing in the list** — The default view shows all tasks, including completed. Fix: Use the filter dropdown to select "Active" or "Incomplete" tasks only.
- **Can't assign a task to a team member** — The team member's account is inactive, or they haven't accepted their invite yet. Fix: Settings > Account > Members. Confirm status is "Active". If invite is pending, resend it.

## Error messages
- `Failed to create task` — Network error or missing required field (title is required). Ensure at least the task title is filled in.
- `User not found` — The assigned user doesn't exist in your organization. Check the assignee dropdown.

## Plans
All plans include tasks. Google Tasks sync available on all plans. Task automation requires workflows (Pro+).
