# Tuning lead scoring: presets, weights and AI suggestions

On Settings > Lead scoring, Owners and Admins can change what the Fit + Intent score rewards. Pick a preset (Inbound-led, Sales-led or Product-led), describe your ideal customer, or move the sliders for the actions that matter most: bookings, demo signups, forms, replies, first contact, trials, referrals, unanswered outreach, CRMown AI's first impression, and the cap on manual adjustments. Each action has a "half in" setting: how many days until half its points have faded. Every change is previewed on a sample of 200 contacts before you apply it, and is recorded in Settings > Permissions > Audit. On the Max plan, CRMown AI looks each week at which contacts actually became customers and may suggest new weights. It never applies them by itself.

## Steps
1. Go to Settings > Lead scoring.
2. Click a preset card, or edit Your ideal customer and the sliders. Advanced holds the rest (pricing-page views, email clicks and opens, Fit points, how long adjustments last).
3. Click "Preview changes" (presets preview straight away). The dialog lists each change, how many contacts move up or down a band, and the biggest movers.
4. Click Apply. Contacts are rescored in the background if the workspace uses Fit + Intent.
5. When a "CRMown AI suggests new weights" card appears, click "Review the change" to see the same preview, then Apply or Dismiss.

## Tips
- Changes only affect Fit + Intent scores. On classic scoring you can tune first and switch later.
- AI suggestions never move a weight more than 50% from its default, and need at least 200 contacts with a score from 90 or more days ago.
- Reset puts the form back to what is saved. To return to the defaults, apply a preset and then move the sliders back to the grey defaults shown next to each one.
- Check Reports > Score calibration afterwards to see whether your top score band converts more often.

## Troubleshooting
- **No sliders on the Lead scoring page** — Tuning is not switched on for the workspace yet. Fix: The rest of the page still works. Contact support to enable tuning.
- **Never get an AI suggestion** — Suggestions are Max-plan only, need Fit + Intent scoring and 200+ contacts scored at least 90 days ago, and only appear when the change would clearly improve how scores predict customers. Fix: Nothing to do. Check back after more score history builds up.
