Billing & Subscriptions
Manage your plan, add-on suites, boost packs, metered overage, invoices, cancellation, and industry verticals. Settings > Billing is split into 7 collapsible sections (top to bottom): ๐ณ Plan ยท ๐งฉ Suite Add-ons ยท ๐ Boost Packs ยท ๐ง Overage ยท ๐ Invoice History ยท โ ๏ธ Cancel Plan ยท ๐ข Industry Verticals. Only Plan is open by default; click any other section to expand. Custom-tier orgs do not see the Boost Packs or Overage sections โ those are managed through their dedicated account manager.
Steps
- Go to Settings > Billing.
- ๐ณ Plan โ shows your current plan badge in the header; expand to see the monthly/annual toggle, promotion code input, all 4 plan cards (Starter / Pro / Max / Custom), and your payment method. Card buttons automatically label as "Upgrade", "Downgrade", or "Contact Sales" based on your current plan (e.g. on Max, Starter and Pro show "Downgrade"; Custom always shows "Contact Sales").
- ๐งฉ Suite Add-ons โ toggle add-on suites (Automation, Web Studio, Marketing, Finance, Growth, Education, Client Hub, Comm Pro, Operations). Header shows "X active" count. Pro plan includes 4 suites; extras are $50/mo each. Max includes all 9.
- ๐ Boost Packs โ three optional ONE-TIME purchases that grant a fixed quota and stay on your account until consumed (no recurring charge, no monthly reset). AI Boost ($99 one-time) grants 10M AI tokens. Lead Gen Boost ($99 one-time) grants 250 Hunter + 250 Apollo + 750 AI SDR runs + 500 prospect results + 500 visitor lookups. Bundle ($149 one-time) is both packs combined and saves $50 vs separate. See dedicated "Boost Packs" article below.
- ๐ง Overage โ pay-as-you-go relief at a higher per-unit price for orgs that only need a few extra units occasionally. Default $50/mo cap configurable up to $200 by OWNER. AI tokens billed at $20 per 1M; Hunter lookups $1.00/call; Apollo lookups $1.00/call. The cap-enforcement chain drains active boost packs FIRST, then falls through to overage. Toggles for AI and enrichment overage are independent. See dedicated "Boost Packs & Overage" article below.
- ๐ Invoice History โ expand for the list of past invoices with amount, status, and download action. Boost line items and metered overage usage records appear on the same monthly invoice as the base plan.
- โ ๏ธ Cancel Plan โ cancellation is a separate section so users don't fat-finger it. Cancellation takes effect at end of the current period. If a cancellation is already pending, a red "Cancellation pending" pill shows in the header.
- ๐ข Industry Verticals โ NAR Member ID field + Real Estate activation ($100/mo) + "Start a brokerage" CTA for agencies. This section used to sit at the top of the Billing tab; collapsed by default now because most orgs never touch it.
Good to know
- Annual billing saves ~20% vs monthly โ the toggle lives inside the Plan section.
- Upgrade vs Downgrade: the button label is computed from plan rank (Starter โ Pro โ Max โ Custom). Any plan below your current one shows as Downgrade with an outlined button; anything above is a filled Upgrade button.
- Each plan includes a set number of suite activations (Starter 0 / Pro 4 / Max 9). Exceeding the Pro cap bills the extra suites at $50/mo each automatically.
- Core Features vs Add-on Suites: Core Features are the 7 areas in the sidebar's CORE section โ Dashboard, Contacts, Pipeline, Conversations, Calendar, Tasks and Analytics โ included on every plan. Add-on Suites are the 9 optional modules under SUITES (Automation, Web Studio, Marketing, Finance, Growth, Education, Client Hub, Comm Pro, Operations), turned on in Settings > Billing > Suite Add-ons. Starter includes none, Pro includes 4 (extras $50/mo each), Max includes all 9.
- Subscription state self-heals: if the linked Stripe customer disappears (dev reset, account swap), we detect the 404 and auto-downgrade the subscription to canceled + clear stale IDs. The next checkout creates a fresh customer cleanly.
- Plan downgrade + suites: deactivating a suite hides every folder attached to it from the Folders tree. Managed-storage orgs get 60-day retention before hard delete; BYOS preserves files indefinitely. Reactivating the suite restores visibility.
Example: A founder on Pro who started using Web Studio + Marketing realizes she's outgrowing Pro's 4-suite cap. She opens Settings > Billing, the Plan section is already expanded. She flips the toggle to Annual (header updates with the 20% savings), picks Max โ button reads "Upgrade" โ proration applies, the upgrade is live before her 2 PM demo. Later she downgrades to Pro for a project lull: Starter and Pro cards now show "Downgrade" (outlined), she clicks Pro, confirms, and the active-suites count drops to 4 automatically with the extra 5 suites hidden until she upgrades back.
Troubleshooting
Payment fails / card declined โ "No such customer" in the error
The Stripe customer record stored on your subscription no longer exists in Stripe โ typically after a dev-env reset or Stripe account swap.
Fix: The platform auto-heals this on the next /billing request: we detect the 404, clear the stale customer id, and downgrade the subscription to canceled. Click any plan card to re-checkout โ a fresh Stripe customer is created transparently.
Suites section shows "Upgrade to Pro to add suites"
You're on Starter. Suites are only available on Pro ($180/mo, 4 included) or Max ($397/mo, all 9 included).
Fix: Expand Plan, pick Pro or Max. After upgrade the Suites section unlocks.
I cancelled my plan but the UI still says I have access
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period โ you keep full access until then. The header shows a red "Cancellation pending" pill.
Fix: No action needed. To undo, click Cancel Plan again โ the toggle flips back to "Plan active".
