Boost Packs & Metered Overage

Two complementary ways to get more capacity without changing your plan. Boost Packs are ONE-TIME purchases (Brief 19 Phase 4) that grant a fixed quota and stay on your account until consumed — no monthly reset, no recurring charge. Metered overage is pay-as-you-go relief at a higher per-unit price for orgs that need a few extra units occasionally. Both live under Settings > Billing.

Steps

1. Open Settings > Billing and expand the 🚀 Boost Packs section.
2. Pick a card and click "Buy for $99" (or $149 for the Bundle). Step-up confirmation will prompt for re-auth. The PaymentIntent charges your card immediately and the pack quota is available on the very next AI / enrichment call.
3. You CAN stack the same SKU. Buying a second AI Boost while one is still draining simply adds 10M more tokens to the FIFO drain pool. Quota from oldest pack drains first.
4. There is no "remove" button. Once you've paid, the quota stays on your account until you drain it. For the rare refund case (didn't mean to buy, fraud, support escalation), email support@crmown.com — refunds void the remaining pack quota.
5. For overage, expand 💧 Overage. Toggle AI / Enrichment overage on or off independently. Drag the cap slider ($0–$200/mo). Cap changes save instantly when you release the slider.
6. View the full overage audit trail with "View history" — paginated list of every overage event (resource, quantity, cost, when, Stripe-reported status).

Good to know

• Pricing: AI Boost $99 one-time = 10M tokens (effective $9.90 per 1M). Lead Gen Boost $99 one-time = 250 Hunter + 250 Apollo + 750 AI SDR runs + 500 prospect results + 500 visitor lookups. Bundle $149 one-time = both packs combined (save $50 vs buying separately for $198).
• Boost vs overage pricing strategy: boosts are the bulk-discount tier ($9.90 per 1M AI tokens prepaid), overage is the convenience tier ($20 per 1M AI tokens metered). The 2x premium on overage exists to incentivize boost purchases for predictable workloads.
• Cap-enforcement chain: plan baseline → drain from active boost packs (FIFO, oldest first) → fall through to metered overage → refuse with cap-reached error. The customer never sees the chain — they just see "limit reached" + relevant CTAs.
• Packs persist across billing cycles. Buy a boost 3 days before your plan renewal and the unused quota carries through into the next cycle and beyond. No "use it or lose it" — that was the v1 model; Phase 4 flipped to true consumable credits.
• Boosts and overage are NOT available on the Custom plan — Custom-tier orgs work directly with their dedicated account manager for capacity changes. The Settings UI hides both sections for Custom orgs entirely.
• AI Boost is NOT available to BYOK orgs (orgs that have connected their own Anthropic / OpenAI API key). The UI shows it as locked with an explanation. BYOK orgs CAN buy Lead Gen Boost (enrichment + SDR + prospects are separate from AI tokens).
• Threshold notifications fire at 50%, 80%, and 100% of your overage cap each cycle. Each one fans out as an in-app notification to every OWNER and ADMIN. The 80% notification is the "do something about this" signal — buy a boost or raise the cap before the hard 100% block.
• AI overage rate is $20 per 1M tokens. Hunter and Apollo overage are both $1.00 per lookup. When both providers are at cap, the system prefers Hunter (cheaper enrichment provider call).
• Lead Gen Boost's AI SDR contribution: 750 SDR runs as a quota, not "+25/day" as a cadence. Customer can use them at their own pace — 25/day for 30 days, 100 on the first day and 22/day after, or anywhere in between.
• The Bundle ($149) saves $50 vs buying AI Boost + Lead Gen Boost separately ($198). UI marks it as "Best value" with a purple border. Unlike v1, there is no conflict between owning the Bundle and owning the components — they are separate packs in the FIFO drain pool.

Troubleshooting

Error messages

• AI token limit reached (X.X / Y.YM tokens this month). — You've burned through your plan + boost AI token cap. Cap-reached toast offers Buy AI Boost / Enable overage / Connect own API key.
• Monthly platform enrichment limits reached on {plan} plan. — Both Hunter and Apollo platform-shared caps for your plan + Lead Gen Boost (if active) are exhausted. Lead Gen Boost adds +250 of each per month.
• Overage cap reached ($X.XX) for this billing cycle. — You've hit the monthly overage budget. Raise the cap to $100 or $200, buy a boost, or wait for cycle reset.
• Overage is disabled for {resource}. — Your org turned off the overage toggle for that resource. Re-enable in Settings > Billing > Overage.
• Boost packs are not available on the Custom plan. — Custom-tier orgs negotiate capacity with their account manager. The Settings UI hides Boosts and Overage entirely for Custom orgs.

Plans

Boost Packs and metered overage are available on Starter, Pro, and Max plans. Not available on Custom (managed by account manager). Not available on Learner / Academy sandbox plans (no real billing). AI Boost is additionally blocked for BYOK orgs since their AI capacity is metered on their own provider account.
