Unpublish, Per-Page SEO, Favicon & Your Public Blog
Take a site offline, set SEO per page, upload a favicon, and reach your published blog at /blog.
Steps
- Unpublish a site: on a published site, click Unpublish (editor top-right) or the pause action on the site card. The site returns to draft and goes offline but keeps all pages and content — Republish anytime. The Publish button reads Republish once a site is live.
- Per-page SEO: in a page Settings tab, the Page Title, Meta Description, Canonical URL, and Social Sharing Image are saved PER PAGE — they load when you select a page and save as you edit. They are injected into that page <head> on the live site, falling back to the page or site name when blank.
- Favicon: Settings > Favicon URL > Upload (or paste a URL / drag-drop). Upload a square image, at least 48x48 — CRMown auto-converts it into a proper multi-size favicon.ico plus a 512px PNG, and auto-pads non-square uploads to square, but a square source looks sharpest. The favicon is generated into your published site when you save/publish and served same-origin at your-domain.com/favicon.ico, so it now shows up in Google search results next to your listing (not just the browser tab) — Google's crawler can reach it because it's served from your own site instead of an app URL. Favicons still cache hard in browsers, so hard-refresh (or use incognito) to see changes after updating one.
- Public blog: published blog posts render on your own domain at /blog (an index of posts) and /blog/your-slug (the article), with a feed at /blog/rss.xml and entries in sitemap.xml.
- Published pages are cached for up to an hour for speed; publishing or re-saving purges the cache immediately, so your edits still show up within seconds.
Troubleshooting
Favicon shows correctly in the browser tab but Google search results still show a generic globe icon
Either the site was published before favicons became crawlable, or the uploaded source image is too small / not square for Google to accept.
Fix: Re-upload a square image (at least 48x48) in Settings > Favicon URL, save, and Publish (or Republish) the site so the favicon regenerates as a crawlable favicon.ico. Then request re-indexing for the page in Google Search Console — the new icon can take a few days to appear in results even after that.
